Sergeant First Class John S. Constance entered the military August 1990, as a Cannon Crew Member at Ft. Sill, OK. He completed training in November 1990, and was assigned to the 1st Armored Division in Germany where he participated in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Retrained as a Fire Support Specialist, he was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI. Other assignments have included 3-11 Field Artillery, Ft. Lewis, WA; 1st Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood, TX.  

 

He has participated in numerous exercises and training events in the US, Germany, Japan, Hungary, and Poland, as well as Operation Joint Endeavor in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He previously served in Iraq in Baghdad and Mosul as Joint Warfare Operations NCO, coordinating Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine aircraft. He is currently serving in support of a Naval Special Warfare Squadron.

 

John has completed many schools which include Air Assault Course, Air/Ground Operation School, and Battle Staff Course. He has previously won the Soldier of the Quarter and Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter and is a Distinguished Honor Graduate of the Advanced Army Non-Commissioned Officers Course. His awards include 6 Army Commendation Medals, 6 Army Achievement Medals, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, NATO Medal, and several Bronze Stars.

 

John is married to Jacqueline, and they have two sons Charlie (15 years) and Christian (8 years).

Ben Atkins, on the right, M.P.,
has been a vital part of ministry with youth,
an active member of the First Presbyterian Church since November of 2007. 
Ben has recently engaged in training for overseas deployment,
He has been in the Ohio Army National Guard for three years,
this will be his first time in Iraq.
He will be training Iraqi police forces and communicating with civilians
 toward the continuous infrastructure rebuild
 that Iraq will be able to run itself independently.
He will be gone for roughly a year,
and his mother, grandmother and dog, Max, anxiously await his return. 
His long-term goal is to become a Police Officer.

Lauren is working with IJM to fight injustice such as slavery, illegal property seizure, sexual violence, sex trafficking, illegal detention.  "Sek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow", -- iah 1:17.
